About the YPAGE Team
YPAGE stands for Young People and Gender Equity, a team focussed on advancing adolescent and youth leadership through a gender-equitable lens. The team works across three core areas:
Youth-Centric Programming:
Strengthening the voice, agency, and leadership of adolescents and young people, especially those most marginalized.
Gender Equity in Youth Work:
Embedding feminist values and equity principles in youth-serving organizations and systems.
Advancing Women in Leadership:
Partnering with private sector companies, DEI experts, and lighthouse organizations to identify and scale evidence-based models that enable women's advancement into leadership roles, with a particular focus on India's healthcare sector.
Evidence-Based Advocacy and Narrative Change:
Conducting sectoral research, consultations, and campaigns to spotlight promising practices, address systemic barriers, and make the investment case for gender equity as a driver of social impact
Collaborative Action and Influence:
Building and nurturing multi-stakeholder platforms, communities of practice, and networks to co-create lasting solutions and influence policy and practice.
We partner with NGOs, youth leaders, philanthropists, government agencies, and multilaterals to design impactful programs, co-create knowledge, and place gender equity at the center of development efforts
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy Design and Support
a. Contribute to brainstorming and designing solutions that address project requirements and objectives.
b. Collaborate with team members to implement strategies, monitor progress, and adapt approaches based on feedback.
c. Provide support in aligning strategic plans with overall project goals.
2. Research and Documentation Conduct secondary research on gender equity and related themes, synthesizing findings to provide meaningful insights for strategic decisions.
Prepare clear and concise briefs, memos, and concept notes based on research and stakeholder discussions.
3. Data Analysis and Insights Conduct intermediate-level data analysis using Excel to identify trends, create visual representation (e.g., charts, histograms, waterfall chart), and support decision-making.
Support the development of data-driven narratives to inform internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure accuracy and relevance of data used in reports, presentations, and recommendations.
4. Coordination and Project Support Support the coordination of tasks, workstreams, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to timelines.
Assist in organizing and facilitating meetings, workshops, webinars, and events, including preparing materials and managing logistics.
Take detailed notes during meetings and create summaries with key takeaways and action items.
Provide operational and logistical support across project phases to ensure successful delivery.
5. Relationship Management and Reporting Support the management of key donor and partner relationships by understanding their needs, maintaining documentation, and contributing to reporting efforts.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and timely delivery of outputs.
6. Sector Knowledge and Capacity Building Stay updated on trends and developments in the young people and gender equity sectors to inform and enhance Dasra's initiatives.
Assist in curating and facilitating learning sessions or capacity-building workshops for internal teams and external stakeholders.
Skills and Competencies Required
Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving
: Ability to think creatively and develop practical approaches to address challenges in gender equity and healthcare. Comfortable navigating uncertainty and adapting to changing priorities with a focus on solutions and outcomes.
Data Analysis and Research
: Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, and basic data visualization) to analyze trends and extract meaningful insights. Skilled in collecting relevant and accurate information from credible sources and synthesizing key findings to inform strategies and project needs.
Communication and Presentation Excellence
: Strong written and verbal communication skills to create clear, concise, and compelling narratives, reports, and presentations. Proficient in tools like PowerPoint, Canva, and other communication aids, with an ability to adjust messaging based on the audience and context.
Project Coordination and Support
:
o Plans and achieves project deliverables within deadlines, effectively manages own time, and identifies conflicts or roadblocks with appropriate guidance.
o Provides operational and logistical support across tasks, workstreams, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects.
o Coordinates with internal teams to monitor progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables as per project plans.
o Organizes and facilitates meetings, workshops, and events, including preparation of materials and documenting key takeaways and action items.
Stakeholder and Relationship Management
: Supports relationship-building efforts by understanding the needs of internal and external stakeholders. Ensures quality execution in all funder engagements and works collaboratively to align goals and expectations.
Adaptability and Initiative
: Self-motivated, resourceful, and energetic, with the ability to work independently while being responsive to evolving priorities. Thrives in dynamic environments and takes a proactive approach to tasks and challenges.
Technical Proficiency
: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to use these tools effectively for project coordination, reporting, and communication.
