The Cost Engineer is responsible for collecting and analyzing cost data, assisting in cost reporting, and supporting various cost reduction Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives. The role requires frequent collaboration with global cross-functional teams such as cost managers, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and finance to help and identify cost optimization strategies.

The Global Large UPS COE department of AC Power design large power Uninterruptible Power Supply from a mechanical and electrical standpoint, executes engineering test verify that the product meets the design requirements, executes value engineering analysis to reduce the cost of the product, support field engineer for special applications in field and supports the service for field issues. Products may have global scope and as well a regional scope.
Responsibilities:

Perform costed BOM analysis, understand product cost structure, analyze cost trends, identify high-cost drivers, and suggest cost-saving opportunities.
Monitor and track the actual costs of products during production, compare them to target costs or estimations, and report any discrepancies.
Conduct product cost comparison among different manufacturing plants, identify and address differences.
Collaborate with regional and global procurement teams to evaluate alternate suppliers for material cost reduction.
Support cost estimations of new products per alternative designs, materials, or manufacturing processes.
Assist the Cost Manager in maintaining a database of cost reduction ideas, tracking the success of previously implemented initiatives, and identifying opportunities for further improvement.
Independently handle material purchase activity using ERP system.
Independently handle material entry activity using ERP system.
Education & Certifications:

University degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years of professional experience in similar roles Purchasing or Buisness
Requirements:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point and ERP system.

Familiarity with cost-saving strategies, such as lean manufacturing or value engineering.
