Role Overview

As an Associate Director in the Finance Transformation practice, you will play a key leadership role in delivering SAP EPM and SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting (GR)-based consolidation transformations for major clients. You will lead project workstreams, guide solution design, act as a subject-matter expert (SME), and support business development efforts.


This role requires strong consulting delivery experience, deep SAP GR/EPM knowledge, and the ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to practice growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Delivery & Workstream Leadership

Lead major workstreams within large SAP finance transformation programs (SAP GR, EPM, cFIN). Manage day-to-day delivery, solution design, client alignment, and issue resolution. Conduct client workshops for process design, requirements gathering, and solution walkthroughs. Ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and leading practices. Oversee testing, cutover, data validation, and deployment activities for GR/EPM components.

2. SAP EPM/GR Subject Matter Expertise

Serve as an SME across SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting, consolidation, intercompany, currency translation, and financial close processes. Support architecture teams by designing GR structures, mapping rules, master data models, and reporting hierarchies. Work closely with integration teams to align GR with

FI/CO, Central Finance, BPC, BW/4HANA, and SAC

. Troubleshoot complex SAP GR configuration and functional issues.

3. Client Advisory & Relationship Management

Advise Controllers, Finance Directors, and transformation leads on close optimization and consolidation best practices. Provide insights on reporting automation, process governance, and EPM data models. Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted partner during program delivery.

4. Business Development Support

Support proposal development, RFP responses, and solutioning for SAP GR/EPM opportunities. Work with Directors and Partners on pre-sales activities, demos, and client presentations. Contribute to pipeline generation through industry research, thought leadership, and internal capability building.

5. Practice Development & Team Leadership

Mentor and coach junior consultants and managers. Lead internal initiatives such as GR playbooks, accelerators, templates, and training sessions. Contribute to recruitment and capability development for the SAP EPM team. Support quality reviews and compliance activities within the practice.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of SAP consulting or Finance Transformation experience. Deep functional expertise in

SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting

(mandatory). Strong knowledge of consolidation processes: group close, IC eliminations, ownership structures, equity pickup, currency translation. Experience implementing SAP GR or supporting it in multi-entity/global environments. Understanding of IFRS/US GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience managing teams and leading workstreams in consulting engagements. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related field; CA/CPA/CMA/MBA preferred.

Preferred Skills

Exposure to

SAP BPC, SAC Planning/Reporting, PaPM, or Central Finance

. Experience in multi-country or multi-business-unit SAP rollouts. Strong communication and executive presentation abilities. Ability to manage complex stakeholder groups under consulting timelines. Familiarity with Agile and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
