The Associate Director, Global Drug Development Patient Safety DevOps will lead a team developing and operating platforms and custom applications supporting BMS Patient Safety including the Lifesphere Patient Safety Platform from ARISg and BMS leading-edge REMS platforms & solutions that are based on Salesforce Health Cloud platform, custom built on Camunda BPM, Java, React JS & PostgreSQL. On the later, the incumbent will work collaboratively with the new Salesforce Center of Excellence (CoE) to oversee the development, testing and deployment of new features following a modern DevOps framework. The incumbent will work closely with Global Drug Development business and fellow IT colleagues co-located in Hyderabad and around the world as part of global IT product teams delivering on the most promising opportunities in the product backlog. This includes experimenting with new and emerging technologies to identify solutions which can be scaled to deliver business value aligned business priorities and IT product roadmaps. This will require the incumbent to model and promote effective teamwork, collaboration, and communication across the entire global product team. To be successful, the incumbent will need to instill a learning culture whereby the team gains a strong understanding of the GDD business and supporting technologies and external technology landscape and is expected to continually bring innovative ideas to the table.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, onboard and manage the Global Drug Development IT Patient Safety DevOps Team in Hyderabad, position them for success, and hold them accountable to deliver against the expected business outcomes
  • Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of applications supporting Patient Safety including the ARISg Lifesphere Safety Case Processing platform and feature specification, testing and deployment for the REMS (Risk Evaluation & Mitigation Strategy) platforms & solution built on various technology stack that includes (but not limited to) Salesforce, Pega Cloud, Camunda (BPM tool), Java, React JS etc. following the agile DevOps frameworks.
  • Partner with the Global Drug Development, Worldwide Patient Safety Product Managers & Engineering leads to understand the business needs, identify opportunities for digital innovation and coordinate to capture the requirements in product backlogs, influence priorities and deliver solutions that make a difference to our patients
  • Partner with the GDD IT Hyderabad Architect and GDD IT Architecture Council to assess needs and select the best technology solutions in alignment with GDD IT and BMS architecture principles, standards, patterns and guidelines.
  • Co-develop and maintain technology roadmaps in partnership with IT product teams, Engineering & Operations team and technical delivery partners (e.g., Salesforce CoE) for the applications responsible for and guide the organization in making strategic technology decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • At least 12+ years of relevant experience in Information Technology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare
  • 6+ years in a leadership role delivering and supporting IT applications with a large global scope.
  • 6+ years of experience in building and managing teams
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies, including DevOps, Agile and Waterfall ideally in a regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of the current information technology landscape including cloud solutions, CRM, BPM and experience with experimenting with new technologies from proof of concept through scaleup
  • Proven experience in hands-on software developments and/or experience in leading a technical team of strong developers & testers. Experience as a full stack engineer/developer is a value-add.
  • Strong customer centric skills as well as advanced ability to engage with business functions, manage stakeholders, and coordinate activities in a large, global, matrixed organization
  • Communicates candidly and fluently - strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Experience managing vendor and partner delivery with a focus on outcomes
  • Ability to build resilient teams with a \xe2\x80\x98can-do\xe2\x80\x98 attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to retain and grow talent
