This role serves as an Independent Compliance Testing reviewer and is responsible for the assessment of the compliance with local regulations and the effectiveness of the controls and processes owned and developed by 1st Line of Defence (1LoD) to mitigate the regulatory risk.
The role involves executing compliance testing plan to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies. Responsibilities typically include conducting reviews, analyzing data, preparing reports, continuous engagement with stakeholders to ensure suitable corrective actions.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcesses
xe2x80x8bxe2x80x8bEnsure execution of Compliance Testing for underlying functions / businesses as per the Compliance Testing Plan
xe2x80x8bConduct Compliance Testing (Thematic Reviews / RBS Tranche Testing) of key regulatory requirements for compliance processes in accordance with the Compliance Testing methodology.
xe2x80x8bCarry out a review for new products launched by the Bank within 6 months of implementation.
xe2x80x8bResponsible for overseeing the execution of the end-to-end review phases from planning, fieldwork, reporting and issue management to meet the testing objectives.
xe2x80x8bEnsure that all work papers required for the reviews are completed to required quality standards.
xe2x80x8bAs a lead reviewer, ensure that completed reviews are correctly closed, and that all documentation is correctly filed, as required by the Methodology.
xe2x80x8bAs required by the Methodology track issues throughout the issue lifecycle, capture and track the issue data in the Issue tracker and report regulatory breach in Issue Point.
xe2x80x8bWork with the Business / Functions teams to identify and propose control enhancements and/or simplifications where appropriate.
xe2x80x8bCreate and deliver the risk-based assurance plan, including delivery of a programme of continuous assurance testing and thematic change analysis work, to ensure the compliance risk framework is fit for purpose and up to date with all regulatory requirements.
xe2x80x8bGather, analyse and report data on emerging risks, risk assessment and testing findings, and control standards to inform the Assurance plan and improvements to the risk control framework.
xe2x80x8bLead and enable cross-functional collaboration to establish consistent standards for compliance assurance across SCB.
xe2x80x8bValidate the outcomes of action plans implemented for the observations noted, by performing sufficient sample-based testing, as applicable.
xe2x80x8bDevelop and improve the processes which are within the remit of compliance assurance to help CFCC as a whole provide better compliance frameworks and policies to SCB.

xe2x80x8bProvide inputs and updates on regulatory compliance to Country Risk Committees and other Governance Forums, as applicable, ensuring delivery of consistent communications on priorities and thematic findings.

QualificationsEducation
Chartered Accountant or Management degree in Finance is preferable. Auditing, Risk Management, Compliance background would be ideal.
Good knowledge of Compliance, laws, rules, regulatory requirements, including recent regulatory reforms. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively and people at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPointxe2x80xa6)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comprehensive knowledge of banking and investment product across client segments

Experience in Data Analytics would be an added advantage.
