Summary



Business Solutions International (BSI) is a newly established team within international CLS with the objective of providing gold standard business solutions to drive excellence in delivery and innovation for the Division. The Consulting and Program Management team within BSI work across International to support and enable delivery of the highest priority programs/projects.


The Associate Director will lead the scoping and delivery of priority programs and initiatives to empower the international Business Unit to achieve commercial and operational excellence. The execution-focused role will solve complex business challenges and deliver outcomes for international.


The Associate Director will bring a strong track record of delivering large global programs and initiatives, preferably in a commercial and pharma setting. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact, at scale, across the international Business Unit.

About the Role



Key Responsibilities



Support the scoping and design of priority programs and other identified opportunities / challenges within the broader portfolio of work for BSI Consulting and Program Management Lead teams for the delivery of priority programs aligned with international business priorities, driving commercial growth and operational excellence Engage with cross-functional and cross-geographical teams to scope and deliver priority programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and business priorities Serve as a role model for greater awareness and adoption of AI/Gen AI tools and solutions for BSI Consulting and Program Management - helping to identify how we can better leverage these for our portfolio of programs/projects Support team building capabilities initiatives including greater depth of functional/commercial topics and our core capabilities (covering Consulting, Program Management and Learning) Ensure our stakeholder relationships across International are proactively managed, with a focus on the BSI 'gold standard' for driving delivery, excellence and innovation across the business. Collaborate closely with other BSI teams on both delivery of priority programs and capability building type initiatives Actively coach and mentor our Senior Consultants and Consultants, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement Role model Novartis' values of being Inspired, Curious, Unbossed, and Integrity-driven while cultivating a "One team, Shared Impact" for BSI Consulting and Program Management

Essential Requirements



Significant experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles including planning and driving all elements of program execution, preferably with a focus on commercial and / or pharma industry experience 7+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare industry, with management consulting and/or program management experience Proven ability to manage consulting teams (including virtual teams), and motivate stakeholders of widely varying backgrounds across a dispersed and matrixed organization Successful track record in application of consulting tools and solutions, ideally using AI/GenAI, in solving complex business problems Minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in science, engineering, business administration or economics

Desirable Requirements



Masters in a business related subject matter area as well as any additional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Change management, Enterprise Communications, Project management, Product Management, Facilitation /Coaching, design thinking, ITIL
