Core Responsibilities of an SAP BASIS Architect



An SAP BASIS Architect is primarily responsible for designing implementing and maintaining the technical architecture of SAP systems This role ensures that SAP landscapes are secure scalable and optimized for performance



1 System Design Architecture



Define and implement SAP technical architecture across onpremise cloud and hybrid environments



Design integration strategies between SAP and nonSAP systems



Develop highlevel technical solutions for complex enterprise landscapes interviewguycom communitysapcom



2 Installation Configuration Upgrades



Install and configure SAP systems ECC S4HANA BW etc



Plan and execute system upgrades migrations and kernel updates



Ensure compliance with SAP Notes and patches for system stability RR566045Successful



3 Performance Monitoring Optimization



Monitor SAP system performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks



Optimize database and application server performance

4 Security Authorization Management



Define and maintain user roles and authorizations



Implement SAP security policies and audit compliance

5 Transport Change Management



Oversee SAP Transport Management System TMS



Coordinate transport requests across development QA and production environments

6 Backup Disaster Recovery



Schedule and verify system backups

7 Cloud Hybrid Deployments



Support SAP on cloud platforms eg SAP BTP and hybrid models



Manage cloud connectors and integration services

8 Documentation Compliance

Ensure compliance with IT policies audits and regulatory standards

Skills Qualifications



Strong expertise in SAP NetWeaver SAP HANA and S4HANA



Knowledge of operating systems Linux Windows and databases Oracle HANA DB2



Experience in cloud technologies and integration tools



Ability to design secure scalable architectures and manage complex landscapes
