The Associate Data Analyst is responsible for supporting data analysis activities with a focus on data cleaning and visualization at a granular level. Reporting to the Data Specialist, the Associate Data Analyst plays a crucial role in preparing data for analysis, ensuring data quality, and creating visual representations of data that support business insights.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Perform data cleaning tasks, including removing duplicates, correcting errors, and standardizing formats, to ensure data accuracy.
Assist in the preprocessing of raw data, including data transformation and normalization, to prepare it for analysis.
Collaborate with the Data Specialist to understand data requirements and ensure data is structured appropriately for analysis.
Create and maintain visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to represent data insights at a detailed level.
Design charts, graphs, and dashboards that effectively communicate key data points and trends.
Customize visualizations to meet the specific needs of different business units or projects.
Assist in basic data analysis tasks, such as summarizing data, identifying trends, and generating reports.
Support the Data Specialist by providing clean and well-organized datasets for more complex analysis.
Contribute to the documentation of data processes and findings.
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data visualizations and reports.
Address any issues or discrepancies identified in the data and work with the Data Specialist to resolve them.
Ensure that all visualizations and reports adhere to organizational standards and best practices.
Work closely with the Data Specialist and other team members to support ongoing data projects and initiatives.
Collaborate with different business units to understand their data visualization needs and provide timely support.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving data processes and visualizations.
Stay updated on the latest trends and tools in data visualization and analytics.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills in data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
Seek feedback from peers and supervisors to continuously improve performance.
Associate Data Analyst Qualifications/Skills:
Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R), data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI), and experience with databases and data warehousing solutions.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong project management skills and a track record of delivering successful analytics projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on generating actionable insights to drive business success.
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field; master's degree preferred.
Proven experience (1.5+ years) in a similar role managing analytics teams and projects.
Proficiency in data visualization platforms (Power BI).
Valid Course completion certifications will be an added advantage.
