Job Description


Role x You:

The Associate Creative Director (ACD) is responsible for leading the creative work that is produced on two or three accounts, depending on the account size. This managerial role includes assigning teams, inspiring those teams to consistently produce exceptional concepts and final work, and working closely with account management to ensure that our clients are satisfied with the quality of our creative work, the value of our services, and our responsiveness to their needs.

Responsibilities:

Creative/Hands-on Work (40%)

Help develop and review creative briefs that provide strategic insight and creative inspiration

Work with relevant departments to produce standout and strategically focused concepts and campaigns

Take on appropriate projects and own them, start to finish

Manage and work independently, under tight deadlines, while juggling multiple projects

Estimate creative hours

Participate in client meetings

Lead concept presentations

Attend market research as appropriate

Share responsibility with planning to shape strategic branding

Management (30%)

Assign teams best suited for each project based on ability and workload.

Manage workloads to maximize the productivity of the team, ensuring that everyone is busy and billable.

Work on career progression plans for the team.

Manage/Support with salary reviews every March, liaise with HR/ECD.

Ensure that employees have clear goals and responsibilities.

Provide specific performance feedback, both positive and corrective.

Support employees in their efforts to achieve job goals (e.g., by providing resources, removing obstacles, acting as a buffer).

Work closely with HR in all internally focused employee and department matters.

Identify and Interview prospective creative candidates

Ensure new team members are onboarded to the relevant systems within the first couple of weeks.

Ensure that new team members are introduced to time tracking and understand the different internal and billable project codes and when to use what.

Review and Approve/Reject timesheets from the team.

Flag and take action when something seems disproportionate.

Leadership (30%)

Become the creative voice for your accounts

Develop good relationships with your clients

Work closely with relevant departments to ensure that deadlines and budgets are met

Work with account management to grow our business at existing clients

Work with creative management to address performance, workflow, and quality issues and develop long-range plans for the creative department

Lead the creative teams in developing concepts and executing projects

Optimize workflow to ensure consistently positive results across projects.

Assure that all direct reports are trained and, where needed, mentored to maintain the standards and expectations of the agency and the client, and to meet their own career goals

Demonstrate to clients that you understand their products and marketing challenges and are responsive to the strategic and creative needs

Represent the agency at client meetings and social events as appropriate

You have these:

8+ years\xe2\x80\x99 agency experience

Degree (Advertising, Communications, Fine Arts) or related field preferred or relevant experience

A proven track record of creative ability and judgement, successful client contact experience

Strong strategic thinking and creative skills (written, visual and conceptual)

Ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple priorities

Excellent client service and presentation skills

Self-motivation and a positive interaction with a wide range of stakeholders, colleagues and clients

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite; must be highly skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
