Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Associate Content Editor to join our talented Zoological Records (ZR) team in Chennai/Hyderabad. This is the team of 13 member. As a Content editor in the ZR team you will select, analyse and interpret, and summarize scientific research and, as such, you should have comprehensive knowledge in a life sciences subject. Your role will require you to be target-driven and to meet defined quality standards.

About You \xe2\x80\x93 experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• Work experience (Fresher or at least 1 year of experience in content editing in a science-related field
• Knowledge on animal classification, systematic taxonomy & Nomenclature will be added advantage.
• Education M.Sc. Zoology or related life science streams
• Knowledge in performing end of production cycle completeness, and accuracy tasks as assigned. Good scientific research and analytical skills, with attention to detail

It would be great if you also had . . .

• Masters in life science (Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology). Knowledge on animal classification, systematic taxonomy & Nomenclature will be added advantage.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Apply zoology, systematic taxonomy, ICZN Nomenclature, microbiology, genetics and molecular biology concepts to curate animal and its biological related data from research articles in line with editorial policies
• Achieve weekly production volumes and consistently meet quality targets. Take active role within the team to ensure targets are met
• Maintain a flexible and adaptable approach towards process change
• Take initiative by raising, discussing, and resolving subject matter and production issues
• Maintain and develop scientific knowledge and skills training as required to complete work and stay current on scientific trends and developments related to your editorial responsibilities

About the Team

ZR is a comprehensive source of animal information with mainly related animal classification, systematic taxonomy & Nomenclature coming from academic literature and covers all aspects of animal biology. As an Content editor in the ZR team you will select, analyse and interpret, and summarize scientific research and, as such, you should have comprehensive knowledge in a life sciences subject. Your role will require you to be target-driven and to meet defined quality standards.

In addition, this team and its processes and workflows are about to undergo huge transformation which will offer opportunities to rethink how the team operates and identify synergies with similar teams so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with change and someone able to offer ideas and think creatively.
