We're seeking a future team member for the role of Associate II to join our Middle East and Rep Office accounting team. This role is located in Chennai. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: The incumbent is responsible for preparing month-end close activities and variance analysis, as well as general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations. Month-end closing of books of accounts, working on various sub-ledgers, accounting knowledge, and balance sheet reconciliation and reporting activities are essential. Excellent knowledge and expertise in month-end close, accruals and prepaids, variance analysis, and lease accounting are required. prepare detailed MoM, YoY expense analysis to identify variances, trends, and ensure all management units within the entity are closed and balance-free before finalization. Prepare all journal entries with accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and ensure proper documentation and approvals are in place before submitting for review. The primary responsibilities require knowledge and experience in preparing journal entries, substantiating supporting documentation, managing intercompany affiliate transactions, and performing general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations The role will require making decisions and escalating issues to local or onshore management as appropriate. Excellent knowledge and expertise in preparing the month end close, Accrual & Prepaid, variance analysis, FX Calculations. Excellent knowledge and expertise in preparing intercompany recharge and cost allocation during month end close. Strong knowledge and expertise in preparing the journal entries including substantiation of supporting documentation, usage of affiliates for IC transactions and general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations (High Complexity) Proactively work with the onshore teams and support the team for timely clearance, resolution of reconciliation variance & aged outstanding items. The incumbent will need to act and develop themselves by proactively identifying unique business scenarios throughout all aspects of the process cycle, thinking differently, formulating, and implementing process improvements to drive speed and simplicity, gaining credibility, and partnering across a diverse array of cross-functional teams. They may deliver analytical support for activities including audits, response to ad hoc requests, and various assigned special projects Being a self-starter, passionate, and a good communicator is important to establish relationships and build connectivity. The successful candidate demonstrates a genuine ability and interest in building relationships with stakeholders to deliver customer-centric solutions. They should demonstrate the best practices gained from earlier experience and deploy them in the current process, focusing on process improvement and the elimination of manual efforts. A contribution towards automation and process improvement is highly required, as is supporting team members by assisting with accounting concepts and identifying potential manual areas to work towards automating. Ensure financial data integrity by maintaining completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and accessibility; uphold effective controls compliant with SOX, USGAAP and relevant accounting standards. Apply policies and standards from Global Process Owners and Technical Accounting COE; properly use the BNYM Standard Chart of Accounts and maintain consistent data definitions. Lead and coordinate ad hoc/special projects as needed; actively participate in demand and service management processes. To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: 10 + Year experience in Record to Report (R2R - General Accounting) Qualification - M.Com / MBA/CWA-Inter/ CA-Inter with 8+ or more years of post-qualification Or CA, CPA or CWA, with 6 + or more years of post-qualification experience Strong problem-solving skills Demonstrated expertise in finance and accounting, with substantial experience managing complex global accounting operations across various business lines.
