Positions in this function maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports. Performs account reconciliations and analyses, prepares journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles. Analyzes and prepares financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position. Involved in the monthly/quarterly 'close' process.

Job Components:

  • Manage and review the monthly financial reconciliations related to various revenue sources for assigned health plans
  • Maintain the accuracy of the GL string with the valid locations and products based on the membership
  • Reclass Journal entries based on the requirement
  • Recommend accounting entries to the general ledger and set up of accruals/ reserves based on the monthly reconciliations
  • Research and evaluate trends and variances in health care revenues and receivables
  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports
  • Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close
  • Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles
  • Prepare documentation in Support of external and internal audits
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
  • analyze and Prepare financial statements, including Balance sheets and statements of financial position
  • Assist with or Lead the month end quarterly end close process for assigned businesses or groups
  • Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors/ Masters in Commerce
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Post graduation in accounting / Finance or its equivalent
  • Minimum of 3+ years. of experience in Accounting
  • Strong Accounting background, understanding of US GAAP revenue recognition principles
  • Working knowledge on basic and advanced Excel skills
  • Good understanding of General Ledger and chart field attributes
  • Good interpersonal skills and Analytical skills
  • Not afraid to ask questions, chase folks and ensure tasks are being completed on time
  • Ability to develop and establish financial polices and procedures
  • Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Skills (Basic/Intermediate/Advanced):
  • Prior Healthcare experience in Finance and Accounting
  • Prior work experience on GL
Work Hours:
  • Regular Shift ( 11.00 am 08.30pm IST ) and during month end close ( 5.45pm 3.15 am IST)
