Job Purpose To manage and streamline all Export-Import (EXIM) and domestic commercial operations, ensuring timely procurement, dispatch, documentation, statutory compliance, and coordination with logistics partners. The role ensures cost-effective operations and supports business targets.
2. Key Responsibilities A. Export & Import (EXIM) Management o Handling import documentation, including Bill of Entry, HS codes, LC, bank documents, and customs clearance. o Coordinating with CHA, freight forwarders, customs officers to ensure timely clearance of shipments. o Managing export documentation - invoice, packing list, BL/AWB, COO, insurance, BOE closure. o Maintaining compliance with DGFT, including applications under MEIS/RODTEP/EPCG/Advance License. o Tracking international shipments, freight negotiation, and route finalization. o Ensuring statutory compliance for export shipments as per Customs Act, FTP, and RBI regulations.
B. Domestic Commercial Operations o Overseeing purchase and sales documentation, GST invoices, e-way bills, challans, dispatch planning. o Coordinating with production, stores, logistics for on-time dispatch of customer orders. o Vendor management and negotiation for domestic transport & warehouse services. o Monitoring stock movement, GRNs, and reconciliation with accounts. o Supporting commercial activities for projects, tenders, and customer documentation.
C. Logistics & Coordination o Selecting and managing freight forwarders, transporters, and logistics partners. o Monitoring freight cost, demurrage, detention, and optimizing logistics cost. o Coordinating with internal teams--sales, purchase, finance, production--for smooth workflow.
D. Compliance & Documentation o Ensuring compliance with GST, customs, RBI, DGFT, and company guidelines. o Maintaining and auditing EXIM records for internal/external audits. o Preparing MIS reports for shipments, material movement, cost analysis, and timelines.
E. Team Management o Leading and developing the EXIM and commercial operations team. o Ensuring high discipline, accuracy, and timely execution of all commercial tasks.
3. Required Skills & Competencies o Strong knowledge of Export-Import laws, DGFT policies, customs tariffs, logistics. o Good understanding of GST, e-way bill, commercial invoicing, and documentation. o Vendor coordination & negotiation skills. o Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally). o Excellent communication & team coordination abilities.
4. Qualifications & Experience o Graduate / Postgraduate in Commerce / International Business / Supply Chain. o 6-12 years of experience in EXIM and domestic commercial operations (manufacturing preferred). o Experience in dealing with export incentives, EPCG, and customs is mandatory.
5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) o On-time import & export clearance o Zero non-compliance in documentation o Freight cost optimization o Reduction in demurrage/detention o Timely dispatch of domestic orders o Accuracy in ERP documentation and MIS.
