Job Description

Assistant Engineer (AE) in the UPS field installs, maintains, and repairs Uninterruptible Power Supply systems, performing preventive maintenance (PMs) like battery checks and fault diagnosis, troubleshooting emergencies, managing site reports, and ensuring customer satisfaction, often requiring electrical knowledge, field service experience, and willingness for travel and after-hours work.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

: Setting up new UPS systems and related power hardware.

Maintenance

: Performing scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on AC/DC power systems, batteries (Lead Acid, Li-ion), and testing UPS units.

Troubleshooting

: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues, often remotely or on-site for critical failures.

Repairs

: Replacing faulty components like capacitors, batteries, and other hardware.

Documentation

: Creating accurate service reports, maintaining records of work done, parts used, and customer details.

Customer Support

: Providing technical assistance, managing customer expectations, and promoting sales leads.

Site Operations

: Managing spare parts, maintaining company vehicles, and ensuring safety compliance
Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

: Electrical/Electronics Engineering degree or equivalent.

Experience

: Technical service in power electronics, UPS, or related fields preferred.

Technical Skills

: Fault finding, diagnostics, battery maintenance, understanding of power systems.

Soft Skills

: Strong communication, customer service, time management, ability to work under pressure, and a self-starter.

Logistics

: Valid driving license, willingness for daily travel, and after-hours/weekend shifts
