Role Context:




The Field Officer / Assistant Field Officer will be responsible for implementing the White-winged Duck Recovery Project's community engagement and outreach components at the field level in Pakke. The role focuses on executing sensitization initiatives, engaging with local communities and schools, maintaining stakeholder coordination, and supporting communication efforts for conservation awareness. The officer will work closely with the project team and report both technically and administratively to designated leads.

Responsibilities



Implement site-level sensitisation and outreach activities as per the project plan to ensure timely achievement of targets and deliverables. Conduct regular engagement with schools (urban and rural), communities, and other groups through training, events, and mass sensitization programmes. Assist in identifying and fostering strategic partnerships at the local and state level in support of the project goals. Engage and coordinate with a diverse set of stakeholders including government departments, NGOs, academic institutions, and individuals under the supervision of the Division Head and PI. Draft communication material, social media content, and outreach stories to maintain consistent public engagement. Track and report monthly progress of project activities in coordination with the team. Ensure all scientific, technical, and communication outputs align with project requirements. Maintain financial discipline and ensure project-related expenditures adhere to approved norms. Facilitate project visibility through local media coverage when relevant and required. Collect and submit field data to the central team at regular intervals. Prepare technical and donor reports including documentation, photographs, and other project-related materials. Assist with drafting manuscripts, reports, and proposals in collaboration with the Division Head and PI.

Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities under time-bound conditions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with varied stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Initiative, creativity, and responsibility in achieving project objectives. Basic proficiency in digital tools and reporting software (MS Office). Proficiency in local languages (such as Assamese, Hindi, or other regional dialects) is preferred.
