An Assistant Track Machine Operator plays a supporting role in operating and maintaining track machinery used in railway construction, maintenance, and repair. The responsibilities of this position may vary depending on the specific job and region but generally include the following:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operating Track Machines: Assisting in the operation of machinery such as rail grinders, ballast regulators, track-laying machines, and other equipment used in maintaining or constructing railway tracks.

2. Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and basic repairs on track machines to ensure they are in good working condition.

3. Monitoring Equipment: Observing machine performance and making adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency and safety.

4. Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all operations comply with safety regulations and company policies. This includes wearing protective gear and following safe operating procedures.

5. Assisting Senior Operators: Helping senior track machine operators with more complex tasks, learning how to operate the machinery effectively, and handling simple tasks independently.

6. Track Inspection: Inspecting the track for any damage or defects and reporting issues to supervisors.

7. Signal and Communication: Collaborating with team members and supervisors, sometimes using radios or hand signals, to ensure smooth operations.

8. Material Handling: Assisting in the loading and unloading of materials such as ballast or rails and supporting the transport of materials as needed.

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Instrumentation or Production Engineering or Automobiles or its connected subjects in Govt. Approved colleges/recognized universities. (Passing with minimum 50% marks)
