Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth functioning of the store, excellent customer service, and adherence to company standards.

The role involves assisting with staff supervision, inventory control, and sales support while maintaining hygiene, merchandising, and operational discipline and strictly adhering to SOPs issued by management.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Store Manager in day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing activities. Support sales initiatives to help achieve daily and monthly targets. Ensure high standards of customer service and resolve routine customer queries. Assist in supervising store staff, shift scheduling, and attendance monitoring. Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-job guidance and support. Support inventory management including stock receiving, shelf replenishment, and FIFO practices. Assist in controlling shrinkage, damages, and basic loss-prevention activities. Ensure accurate billing processes and support cash handling and reconciliation. Maintain store cleanliness, hygiene, and visual merchandising standards. Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and safety guidelines. Support implementation of in-store promotions as per company instructions.

Qualifications

Graduate in any discipline. 4-5 years of experience in retail or supermarket operations. Basic knowledge of POS systems and inventory management. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
