Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily hypermarket operations, ensuring smooth store functioning, excellent customer service, staff productivity, and achievement of sales and operational targets.

Key Responsibilities



Assist the Store Manager in managing day-to-day store operations Ensure achievement of sales targets, profitability, and operational KPIs Supervise floor operations, merchandising, and product availability Monitor stock levels, inventory control, and shrinkage prevention Coordinate with department supervisors for smooth workflow Handle customer complaints and ensure high service standards Support staff scheduling, attendance, and performance monitoring Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and safety standards Assist in staff training, motivation, and team development Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports

Required Experience & Skills



3-4 years of experience in retail / hypermarket / supermarket operations Strong knowledge of store operations, inventory management, and merchandising Good leadership, communication, and team-handling skills Customer-focused with problem-solving ability Basic knowledge of POS systems, billing, and MS Office Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple departments

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree or diploma in any discipline (preferred) Retail management certification is an added advantage
