Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing, maintaining store presentation, and ensuring enough staff are on duty.
Inventory and stock control:
Oversee the receiving, stacking, storing, and issuing of materials. Maintain accurate inventory records, logs, and control stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Staff leadership and development:
Recruit, train, and supervise store staff. Motivate the team, ensure they are trained on product and policy, and provide feedback and performance appraisals.
Safety and compliance:
Ensure the store and its operations comply with health and safety regulations, including government and municipal guidelines. This includes maintaining fire exits and safety systems.
Financial management:
Manage the store's budget, monitor expenses, and analyze financial reports to meet profitability goals.
Customer and supplier relations:
Address customer inquiries and complaints, and handle relations with suppliers for material orders and deliveries.
Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on store performance, financial status, and inventory levels to management.
