Inventory management:
Maintain accurate records of materials, manage stock levels, and assist with physical inventory counts.
Stock organization:
Store items properly, ensure a clean and organized workspace, and follow stock rotation procedures like FIFO (First-In, First-Out).
Issuing materials:
Distribute goods based on requisitions and proper documentation.
Documentation:
Process transactions and maintain records, which may include using computer systems like SAP or Excel.
Safety and security:
Adhere to safety protocols, maintain a secure storeroom, and report any safety concerns or damage to property.
Assisting the storekeeper in forecasting demand and ensuring adequate inventory levels
Helping place orders for items that are low on supply and tracking their shipment
Inspecting the shipments for any defects and ensuring proper documentation of the items received
Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate prices, expedite shipment based on priority and get early access to exclusive items
Performing stock rotation to ensure utilisation of goods and minimise wastage, especially at convenience stores
Conducting periodic audits of the inventory, such as physical counting, verification, quality checks and organising to identify areas of improvement
Moving items from the warehouse to the store whenever necessary
