Job role
As Assistant Sales Manager, you will support the Sales Head in managing and growing our established customer base. You will lead the hunt for new business opportunities, especially within future-focused sectors, while being a key technical interface for customer requirements, proposals, and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and expand relationships with both existing and new clients in the fabrication and process equipment industry.
Support the Sales Head in all aspects of client management: proposals, project status meetings, target reviews, and post-sales service.
Identify, approach, and onboard new business clients via direct methods, LinkedIn, and modern sales channels.
Lead the proposal process, including technical/commercial estimation, bidding, and engineering documentation reviews.
Prepare, review, and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
Conduct deep-dive market research, competitor benchmarking, and strategic territory planning.
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, production, projects) to ensure effective solution delivery.
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships and resolve customer concerns proactively.
Ensure achievement of annual sales targets with a results-oriented, self-motivated approach.
Travel as required within Pune and interstate for client meetings and industry events (work week: 6 days).
Adopt a consultative, confident, and professional style in all communications and negotiations.
Essential Skills & Attributes
Strong technical understanding of fabrication of skids, vessels, compressors, heat exchangers, and odorisation skids.
Demonstrated success in B2B industrial/engineering sales (preferably fabrication/process equipment industry).
Thorough knowledge of proposal and estimation processes for engineered products.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and prepare sales/technical documentation.
Excellent presentation, pitching, and negotiation skills; well-groomed and confident in stakeholder interactions.
Strong proficiency in modern business tools, SaaS (LinkedIn, CRM, SAP/ERP, MS Office etc.).
Resilient, assertive, and willing to have challenging conversations when required.
Team player able to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive company environment, with ambition to achieve and exceed targets.
