Position: Assistant Sales Manager (ASM) - Basmati riceLocation: South region Job Overview: The Assistant Sales Manager (ASM) will play a key role in expanding the distribution network and driving sales of Basmati rice initially, with the scope to include other non-perishable products later. The role involves onboarding new distributors and suppliers, developing business relationships, and ensuring product availability across markets. The position requires extensive travel (approximately 90%) to build partnerships, explore new markets, and support distributors in achieving growth targets.Responsibilities and Duties:- Identify, approach, and onboard new distributors and suppliers for Basmati rice, with plans to include other non-perishable products.- Develop and nurture relationships with distributors, retailers, and suppliers to expand the distribution footprint.- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and marketing teams to ensure seamless product supply and execution of sales plans.- Execute sales strategies to meet and exceed growth targets in assigned territories.- Provide support, training, and guidance to distributors to enhance their performance and ensure customer satisfaction.- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify opportunities and risks.- Negotiate contracts, pricing terms, and service agreements while maintaining compliance with company policies.- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and action plans to senior management.- Ensure adherence to quality standards, pricing guidelines, and regulatory requirements.Qualifications & Skills:- Bachelor's degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.- 2-5 years of experience in sales, distribution, or channel management, preferably in FMCG, food grains, or agricultural commodities.- Proven ability to onboard distributors and suppliers and build long-term relationships.- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 90% of the time).- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends.- Proficient in MS Office, CRM tools, and reporting systems.- Understanding of compliance and quality standards related to food products is a plus.Key Competencies:- Business development and channel expansion- Distributor and supplier relationship management- Negotiation and problem-solving- Strategic thinking and market analysis- Effective communication and presentation skills- Customer service orientation- Adaptability and resilienceTravel Requirement:- Approximately 90% travel across assigned territories for distributor onboarding, client meetings, market development, and training.
