The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of food, service, health and safety, and customer satisfaction. This role assists the Restaurant Manager in supervising staff, managing inventory, training team members, and ensuring efficient service and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing daily front-of-house and/or back-of-house restaurant operations.
Support the Restaurant Manager in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising restaurant staff.
Ensure excellent guest service by maintaining high service standards and handling customer inquiries or complaints.
Monitor and maintain quality standards for food, service, cleanliness, and safety.
Oversee inventory levels, food cost control, and supply ordering as needed.
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
Help manage cash handling, deposits, and daily financial reporting.
Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth food service and timely preparation.Assist in implementing promotional and marketing activities to increase sales.
Step in to fulfill duties of any staff member in their absence when needed.
Participate in team meetings and provide performance feedback to staff.
Support the Restaurant Manager in achieving financial and operational goals.
Requirement
Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management (1-3 gears preferred).
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Proficient in POS systems and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
