Role Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the front of house. This role is hands-on and operational -- managing people, cash, customers, and stock during service, especially during peak hours. You're the bridge between the FOH team and management.
This is not a desk job. You are expected to be present on the floor, lead by example, and step in wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
FOH Team Management
Supervise and manage the FOH team (servers, cashiers, hosts).
Prepare weekly FOH rosters and manage shift allocations.
Ensure punctuality, discipline, grooming, and service standards.
Train new FOH staff and coach existing staff during service.
Handle basic staff issues and escalate serious concerns to management.
Customer Handling
Actively handle guests during busy service hours.
Resolve customer complaints calmly and professionally.
Ensure smooth table flow, quick service, and overall guest satisfaction.
Maintain Tony's Kitchen service standards at all times.
Cash & Billing
Handle daily cash operations and billing supervision.
Ensure correct billing, discounts, and payments.
Conduct daily cash closing and submit reports to management.
Coordinate with accounts/management for discrepancies, if any.
Inventory & FOH Stock Control
Manage FOH inventory (cutlery, crockery, glassware, packaging, disposables, cleaning supplies, etc.).
Track usage, wastage, and breakages.
Raise purchase requests and coordinate replenishment.
Ensure stock availability for smooth service.
Operations & Coordination
Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow.
Ensure cleanliness and readiness of FOH before, during, and after service.
Ensure compliance with basic hygiene and safety standards.
Assist management in implementing new systems, SOPs, or promotions.
Skills & Requirements
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality management role (FOH preferred).
Strong people-handling and communication skills.
Ability to stay calm and take control during peak hours.
Basic understanding of billing systems and cash handling.
Organised, responsible, and solution-oriented.
Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
