Job Description

The Assistant Professor of Psychology is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, conducting research, publishing scholarly work, mentoring students, and contributing to academic and administrative activities of the department and institution.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Psychology (e.g., General Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Cognitive Psychology, Research Methods, etc., as assigned). Develop and update course curricula, lesson plans, and instructional materials. Use innovative teaching methods, including technology-enabled learning. Assess student performance through examinations, assignments, and projects. Mentor and advise students on academic and career matters.
Research & Scholarship

Conduct independent and/or collaborative research in areas of specialization. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals. Present research at national and international conferences. Apply for research grants and funding, where applicable. Supervise student research projects, dissertations, or theses.
Service & Administration

Participate in departmental, college, and university committees. Contribute to accreditation, curriculum development, and academic planning. Engage in community outreach, extension activities, or professional service. Assist in student admissions, examinations, and other academic processes.
QualificationsEssential

Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field (as per regulatory body norms). Strong academic background with specialization in a relevant area of psychology. Demonstrated ability or potential for effective teaching and research.
Desirable

Prior teaching or research experience in higher education. Publications in reputed journals. Experience with student supervision and academic administration. Knowledge of modern pedagogical tools and e-learning platforms.
