Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mechanical engineering, including subjects such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and machine design.
Develop and update curriculum, course materials, and lesson plans in line with department and university standards.
Engage students through effective classroom instruction, seminars, and laboratory sessions.
Design, administer, and grade examinations, assignments, and practical assessments.
Maintain a minimum of 16 direct teaching hours per week during the academic session.
Mentor and guide undergraduate and postgraduate students on their academic projects and career development.
Be available for at least 7 hours daily on the university/college campus for teaching, research, and mentoring.
Research and Development:
Conduct high-quality research in the field of mechanical engineering and its allied subjects.
Publish research papers in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed academic journals.
Present research findings at national and international conferences and seminars.
Apply for research grants and secure external funding to support scholarly activities.
Guide and supervise research scholars (Ph.D. and M.Tech. candidates) in their research work.
Actively participate in departmental research activities and collaborate with fellow faculty members.
Administrative and Institutional:
Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other academic and administrative committees as required.
Take on responsibilities assigned by the Head of the Department or institutional authorities, such as handling admissions or exams.
Contribute to the overall growth of the department and the institution.
Adhere to the institution's values, standards, and policies.
Minimum qualifications Educational Qualification:
A PhD and M.E./M.Tech. in the relevant branch of Mechanical Engineering with a First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.
Alternatively, a Master's degree in a relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from an Indian or accredited foreign university, along with clearing the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC.
A Ph.D. degree is a mandatory qualification for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor in universities.
Experience:
Fresher candidates who meet the educational qualifications are eligible.
Preference may be given to candidates with previous teaching, research, or relevant industry experience.
