The Faculty in Business Analytics will be responsible for teaching, research, and academic administration within the MBA program. The primary focus is to equip management students with
data-driven decision-making skills
, covering analytical tools, statistical methods, and their application in various business functions.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Teaching & Academic Leadership
Curriculum Delivery:
Deliver engaging and rigorous lectures, tutorials, and hands-on lab sessions for MBA students in core Business Analytics subjects, including, but not limited to:
Management Information Systems (MIS)
and
Data Warehousing
.
Statistical Methods
for Business.
Data Visualization
and
Storytelling with Data
.
Machine Learning
/
Predictive Modeling
for Business Applications.
Big Data Analytics
and its tools (Hadoop/Spark concepts).
Course Development:
Design, update, and review course content, teaching materials, and pedagogy to align with
industry standards
and the guidelines set by AICTE/VTU/University.
Mentorship:
Guide and mentor students on academic projects, internships, and dissertation work focused on
Business Analytics and research
.
2.
Research & Consultancy
Publication:
Actively engage in research, leading to publications in
UGC-CARE listed, Scopus-indexed, or ABDC-ranked journals
.
Grants:
Apply for and secure research grants from government bodies (e.g., SERB, ICSSR) and industry.
Consultancy:
Undertake consulting assignments for the industry, leveraging expertise in data analysis and business intelligence.

Institutional & Administrative Contribution
Industry Connect:
Build and maintain strong ties with the industry to facilitate
student placements, guest lectures, and corporate training programs
.
Accreditation:
Participate actively in accreditation processes (NAAC, NBA, NIRF, etc.) and departmental administrative duties.
Skill Enhancement:
Organize and conduct
Faculty Development Programs (FDPs)
, workshops, and seminars in Business Analytics.
Required Qualifications & Experience
CategoryRequirementMinimum QualificationMBA/PGDM
(in relevant specialization)
AND a Ph.D.
in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related Management field. Candidates pursuing Ph.D. may be considered for Assistant Professor.ExperienceAs per AICTE norms for the applied post (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). Preference for candidates with a mix of
academic and corporate/analytics industry experience

Mandatory Skills
Strong proficiency in at least
two
of the following tools/languages:
R, Python (Pandas/NumPy/Scikit-learn), SQL, Tableau, Power BI
.
Desirable
Proven track record of high-quality research and/or experience in developing online course content (MOOCs).
