Assistant Professor - Mathematics

Roles & Responsibilities

Teaching & Course Delivery

Deliver lectures for undergraduate (B.Tech) students in core and applied mathematics subjects such as Engineering Mathematics I, II, III, Probability & Statistics, Numerical Methods, and Linear Algebra. Prepare and update course materials including syllabi, assignments, and question papers. Employ modern teaching methodologies and digital tools to enhance learning outcomes.

Student Mentoring & Support

Guide and counsel students on academic and career development. Assist students with project work and research-related activities. Conduct remedial classes for academically weak students.

Research & Publications

Engage in research in Pure or Applied Mathematics. Publish research papers in reputed journals (Scopus/SCI/UGC listed). Participate in conferences, seminars, and workshops.

Curriculum Development

Contribute to curriculum design and revision as per AICTE and JNTUH guidelines. Develop new elective courses aligned with industry trends and interdisciplinary applications.

Assessment & Evaluation

Prepare, conduct, and evaluate examinations, quizzes, and assignments. Provide timely feedback to students on their performance. Maintain transparency and academic integrity in evaluation.

Departmental & Administrative Duties

Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and accreditation (NBA/NAAC) activities. Serve as class in-charge or coordinator for assigned batches. Contribute to co-curricular and extra-curricular initiatives of the college.

Professional Development

Attend Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), Orientation/Refresher courses. Stay updated with the latest developments in mathematics education and pedagogy.

Educational Qualifications

Ph.D. in Mathematics

(Preferred) From a recognized university, with specialization in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering Mathematics. Research publications in reputed journals are desirable.

M.Sc. in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics / Statistics

(Mandatory) With a minimum of

first class (? 60%) or equivalent CGPA

from a recognized university.

B.Sc. in Mathematics

With Physics / Statistics / Computer Science as allied subjects and a strong academic record.

Required Certifications

NET / SET qualification.

Experience

Candidates with 2-5 years of teaching/research experience

in an engineering college or university. Experience handling Engineering Mathematics courses for B.Tech students is highly preferred.

Skills Required

Strong conceptual understanding of

Probability and Statistics

with practical and computational applications. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong conceptual clarity in core and applied mathematics. Good classroom management and mentoring ability.
