The Assistant Professor (Information Technology) is responsible for delivering quality teaching, handling laboratories and projects, mentoring students, and contributing to academic and institutional development in accordance with
AICTE and Anna University norms
.
Key Responsibilities
Teach UG/PG IT subjects as per Anna University syllabus.
Handle theory and laboratory classes in areas such as:
Programming (C, Java, Python)
Data Structures & Algorithms
Database Management Systems
Operating Systems
Computer Networks
Web Technologies
Cloud Computing
Data Science
Prepare lesson plans, course files, teaching materials, and assessment tools.
Conduct internal tests, lab evaluations, assignments, and examinations.
Guide students in mini-projects, final-year projects, and internships.
Support research activities, publications, FDPs, and technical workshops.
Maintain academic records and assist in
NBA / NAAC / AICTE
documentation.
Participate in departmental and institutional committees.
Qualifications (As per AICTE Norms)Option 1 - With NET / SET
M.E / M.Tech in Information Technology / CSE / relevant specialization
NET / SET qualified
Freshers and experienced candidates are eligible
Option 2 - Without NET / SET
M.E / M.Tech in IT / CSE / relevant specialization
Minimum
1-2 years of teaching or industry experience
preferred
Option 3 - With Ph.D.
Ph.D. in Information Technology / Computer Science / allied area
NET/SET not mandatory for Ph.D. holders

Strong programming and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle IT laboratories and modern tools
Project guidance and research orientation
Good communication and student mentoring skills
Familiarity with outcome-based education (OBE)
