The Assistant Professor in Architecture is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in architectural design and related subjects, conducting scholarly research or professional practice, and contributing to the academic and administrative growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Teaching:
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in architecture (e.g., design studios, history and theory, building technology, urban design, sustainable architecture).
Develop course content, syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
Mentor and advise students on academic, design, and career matters.
Supervise undergraduate and graduate theses, capstone projects, and research initiatives.

Research and Scholarly Activity:
Conduct original research or creative practice in architectural design, theory, or technology.
Publish in peer-reviewed journals, present at academic and professional conferences.
Apply for research grants and funding opportunities.
Engage in interdisciplinary research projects when applicable.
3.
Professional Practice (Optional, depending on institution):
Maintain an active architectural design practice or contribute through exhibitions, competitions, or consultancies.
Foster industry connections and bring real-world relevance to academic instruction.
4.
Service:
Participate in departmental and university committees.
Contribute to curriculum development and academic program reviews.
Assist in organizing workshops, guest lectures, exhibitions, and other departmental events.
Engage in community outreach and partnerships when relevant.
5.
Administrative Duties:
Assist in student recruitment and admissions processes.
Participate in accreditation processes (e.g., NAAB, COA).
Maintain course and student records as per institutional policies
Qualifications:Required:
A professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch + M.Arch or equivalent).
Demonstrated teaching ability and/or professional experience.
Strong portfolio of design or academic work.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent design and visual communication skills.
Proficiency in digital design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, etc.).
Strong written and oral communication.
Ability to work collaboratively and collegially in a diverse academic environment.
