Job Summary

The Assistant Professor of Forensic Medicine will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate medical students, conducting research, participating in medico-legal services, and contributing to the academic and administrative activities of the department. The role involves active participation in academic development, curriculum design, and collaborative work with other departments and forensic professionals.

Key Responsibilities Teaching & Academic Duties

Deliver lectures and practical demonstrations in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. Conduct internal assessments, vivas, and examinations. Guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in research projects and dissertations. Contribute to curriculum planning, review, and development. Participate in faculty development programs and academic meetings.

Research & Scholarly Activities

Undertake original research in the field of forensic medicine and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences at national and international levels. Collaborate with other departments for interdisciplinary research.

Medico-legal Duties

Assist in conducting medico-legal autopsies and issuing reports. Provide expert opinion in legal cases when required. Maintain documentation in accordance with legal and institutional protocols.

Administrative Responsibilities

Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to policy-making and decision-making processes. Assist in organizing CME (Continuing Medical Education) programs, workshops, and other academic activities. Support quality assurance and accreditation processes of the department.

Qualifications

Educational

: MBBS and MD (Forensic Medicine) from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or equivalent.

Experience

: Minimum of 1-3 years teaching/research/clinical experience post-MD (may vary depending on NMC norms).

Registration

: Valid registration with the State Medical Council or Medical Council of India.

Pay: ?15,702.37 - ?67,862.01 per month
