Role Overview

The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate English courses, guiding students in academic development, supporting departmental activities, and contributing to the institution's academic excellence. The faculty member is expected to deliver effective instruction, engage in scholarly activities, and uphold the values and policies of the institution.

Key Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses in English Literature, Language, Communication, and related areas. Prepare lesson plans, course materials, and assessments aligned with the curriculum. Conduct lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials to facilitate student learning. Mentor and advise students on academic and career-related matters. Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, presentations, and projects. Participate in syllabus development, curriculum revision, and departmental meetings. Engage in research, paper presentations, publications, and academic improvement activities. Support cultural, literary, and co-curricular programs organized by the department. Maintain accurate academic records, attendance, and evaluation reports. Participate in committees, accreditation tasks, and institutional development initiatives. Uphold institutional discipline, academic integrity, and student welfare.

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in English (MA/M.A. in English) with a minimum of 55% marks. NET/SET qualification preferred (as per UGC norms). Strong command of English language, literature, communication, and pedagogy. Prior teaching experience in a higher education institution is an added advantage.

Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong classroom management and student engagement abilities. Ability to use technology for teaching (LMS, smart classrooms, online tools). Research aptitude and interest in academic writing and publications. Team player with good interpersonal skills and professional ethics. Pay: ₹30,039.16 - ₹40,000.00 per month
