Role Summary:

The

Assistant Production Manager

will support the Production Manager in overseeing daily manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for supervising production line staff, ensuring process efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and helping achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning, organizing, and managing daily production activities to ensure timely completion of orders. Monitor production schedules and coordinate workflow to meet productivity and quality goals. Supervise operators, helpers, and technicians on the shop floor; ensure adherence to SOPs. Track production metrics like yield, rejection, downtime, scrap, and efficiency; share daily reports with the Production Manager. Work closely with QC and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth order flow and minimal delays. Support implementation of lean manufacturing practices and suggest process improvements. Help manage raw material usage, monitor wastage, and coordinate with stores for material availability. Train new hires and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times. Address on-ground issues proactively and escalate unresolved matters to the Production Manager. Assist in shift planning and manpower allocation based on demand and absenteeism.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering (preferred). 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing/production role; mattress or foam industry experience is a plus. Hands-on experience managing factory floor operations, preferably in a D2C or B2C setup. Strong interpersonal and team management skills. Familiarity with production reporting formats Willingness to work in shifts and handle on-ground responsibilities.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
