MAIN BUSINESS CONTEXT
With a spend of EUR 140MEUR+, Silicates portfolio, include Sodium Silicate, Silica, Zeolite, and Calcium carbonate which are key raw materials for our Home Care as well as Personal Care business and is a part of Inorganics portfolio. Consumption is spread across regions with a large number of global, regional and local suppliers.
Portfolio requires deep understanding in a value chain e.g. feedstock, energy and utilities also cost model to improve or identify any opportunity through value chain.
Apart of this need to have full understanding of feedstocks movement and its demand supply outlooks as a key driver to should-cost modelling.
Energy & Logistics costs form a large portion of the delivered costs and is an important aspect for the portfolio especially inland transportation cost for Silicates.
MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
Provide support and contribute to procurement initiatives for the portfolio assigned
Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for delivery of Procurement Key Performance Indicators' such as Value Improvement Programs, Innovation Delivery, Payment Terms Extension, Cost Target, Gross Margin Improvement, Traceability & Sustainability, etc. in line with sourcing strategies and compliance management
• Support security of key materials through the development of contingency plans and alternative materials/suppliers, working with RD, market team and suppliers.
• Monitors material report to update market pricing and read commentaries to maintain record of supply-demand balances
• Close working with Suppliers and consuming countries to ensure material availability.
• Responsible for pricing accuracy together with other members of the Regional/Global team and responsible for Price Forecast maintenance
• Support in engaging with R&D for alternate material approvals / formulation changes, and at times lead regional implementation of global projects involving Inorganics.
• Support delivery of cost savings (NMCI) in line with sourcing strategies and compliance management.
• Support Procurement Manager with the tendering process and the subsequent benchmarking and total cost analysis
• Support operation complexity reduction programs
• Continuously improve ways of working e.g. more efficient ways of handling data, thereby close co-operation with Enterprise support and Capability Teams
• Support the management and maintenance of supplier relationships also internal relationship with market team
• Support compliance initiative, e.g. contract management, SQA/RS, specs etc.
• Support Procurement manager with creating and landing portfolio strategy and other key portfolio projects

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 3-5 years of experience in Buying or Procurement preferably in Chemicals
• Experience in Finance (Costing & Pricing) is a plus
• Basic understanding of International Trade - Duties, Taxes, and etc.
• Good understanding of suppliers and the external competitive environment in Inorganics industry would be a plus.
• Experience in being accountable for target delivery.
• Excellent Excel/Presentation skills
• Good Analytical and Communication Skills
• Able to work in fast paced environment and manage timelines
• Good at stakeholders management for both of internal and external
• Be a person who think out of the box with disruptive idea
