The Assistant Operations Manager supports the day-to-day functioning of the hospital to ensure smooth, efficient, and patient-centric operations. The role involves coordinating with clinical and non-clinical departments, ensuring compliance with standards (including NABH), monitoring service quality, managing staffing requirements, and facilitating continuous improvement in hospital processes.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Operational Management
- Assist in supervising daily hospital operations across OPD, IPD, Emergency, ICU, Diagnostics, and Support Services.
- Ensure smooth patient flow, reduced waiting times, and efficient service delivery.
- Coordinate with nursing, medical, housekeeping, maintenance, and front-office teams.
- Monitor occupancy, bed allocation, and patient movement.
B. Quality & Compliance (NABH Focus)
- Support documentation, audits, and implementation of NABH standards.
- Monitor adherence to SOPs across departments.
- Support incident reporting and CAPA process.
- Train teams on NABH documentation and compliance.
C. Patient Experience & Service Excellence
- Address patient queries, grievances, and escalations.
- Conduct patient feedback analysis and ensure improvements.
- Oversee front desk, billing, admission/discharge processes.
D. Staff Coordination & Administration
- Assist with duty rosters and manpower allocation.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and staff performance.
- Coordinate staff training and onboarding.
E. Inventory & Resource Management
- Monitor usage of consumables and materials.
- Coordinate with purchase and stores.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules.
F. Financial & Billing Support
- Support billing accuracy and TPA/insurance coordination.
- Identify and reduce revenue leakage points.
- Prepare MIS reports.
G. Safety, Security & Facility Management
- Implement safety guidelines, fire drills, and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure biomedical waste management compliance.
- Coordinate with facility support teams.
H. Liaison & Communication
- Act as a bridge between management and operational teams.
