Position Summary :
The Assistant Nurse supports the factory medical unit by providing first aid, basic medical care, health monitoring, and emergency assistance to employees. This role helps maintain worker well-being, ensures compliance with health and safety standards, and supports occupational health programs within the textile environment.

Key Responsibilities :
1. Employee Health Care :
Provide first aid treatmentfor minor injuries, burns, cuts, or accidents common in textile operations.
Assist the Nurse/Medical Officer in routine medical check-ups and health assessments.
Maintain daily treatment recordsof employees.
Support medical care for cases related to dust, humidity, noise exposure, or chemical irritation specific to textile work.
2. Emergency Response :
Respond quickly to factory accidents and emergencies.
Assist in stabilizing injured employees until professional medical help arrives.
Arrange transportation for referral cases to hospital if required.
3. Health Monitoring & Prevention :
Monitor vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, oxygen level).
Support workplace health programs such as eye checks, respiratory health, ergonomic awareness, and vaccination drives*.
Help identify workers showing symptoms of fatigue, dizziness, or respiratory issues due to textile dust or chemicals.
4. Medical Facility & Inventory Management :
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the medical room.
Assist in managing *stock of medicines, first-aid supplies, bandages, PPE, ointments, and sterilized tools.
Ensure proper disposal of medical waste.
5. Reporting & Documentation :
Maintain accurate records of treatments, accidents, and follow-ups.
Assist with documentation required for audits (ISO, compliance, buyers, labor department).
Report severe injuries or repeated health complaints to the Industrial Nurse/HR.
6. Health & Safety Compliance :
Support implementation of factory safety policies.
Promote the use of PPE (masks, gloves, earplugs) among workers.
Participate in safety drills, first-aid training, and health awareness sessions.

Qualifications & Skills :
Education :
ANM / GNM / Diploma in Nursing or equivalent certified course.
Valid nursing registration (as per local regulation).
Experience :
1-3 years of nursing/first-aid experience (preferably in a textile mill, garment factory, or industrial environment).
Technical Skills :
Knowledge of first aid and emergency response.
Basic understanding of occupational health issues (dust allergies, noise exposure, skin irritation from chemicals, etc.).
Ability to handle medical equipment (BP machine, glucometer, thermometer, oxygen kit).
