Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



The Assistant Merchant will support the Senior Merchandiser in the end-to-end execution of orders:

Order Tracking:

Monitor the progress of production orders from sampling to final shipment, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Sourcing & Coordination:

Assist in sourcing raw materials (leather, hardware, linings) and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery to the factory.

Sampling Support:

Coordinate between the Design team and the Master Artisans to ensure samples are developed exactly as per the buyer's spec sheets.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records, including Purchase Orders (POs), Costing Sheets, Bill of Materials (BOM), and production status reports.

Communication:

Act as a secondary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on production status and handling day-to-day queries.

Required Qualifications:



Experience:

1-3 years of experience in merchandising or production coordination, preferably in the leather, fashion, or handicraft export industry.

Education:

Graduate in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, Business Administration, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office (especially

Excel

for tracking and costing) and clear professional email communication.

Industry Knowledge:

Basic understanding of the leather production process, lead times, and export documentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
