Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal due diligence for land acquisition processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate land-related agreements, contracts, and MoUs to safeguard the company's interests.
  • Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and clearances.
  • Address and resolve disputes related to land ownership, acquisition, or usage through effective legal strategies.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to environmental and statutory compliance specific to land acquisition for thermal projects.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align land acquisition strategies with project timelines and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of land transactions, legal documentation, and compliance reports.
  • Provide legal advisory support to the Land Head and project teams on land-related matters.
  • Stay updated on changes in land laws, regulations, and policies impacting the thermal power sector.
  • Support risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to land acquisition and legal compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; specialization in land laws preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in land legal functions, preferably in the power or infrastructure sector.
  • Proven track record in handling large-scale land acquisition projects and regulatory compliance.
