Asstt Manager/ Executive - Legal @ Noida

Our client is a large industrial house in Oil & Gas domain and they would like to fill-up following position asap. Candidate should ideally be from Oil & Gas domain.

Position : Asstt Manager/ Executive - Legal

Location : Noida

Education : LL.B from a reputed University. Specialization in any field of law is desirable.

Experience : 3 - 6 Years. Should include handling international and high value contracts and working in a corporate legal department or a reputed law firm.

Compensation : Commensurate with education and experience

Role Responsibilities and Desired Profile :

This is a permanent position based at Company HO at Noida and reporting to DGM - Legal. Candidates from Oil and Gas or from large manufacturing company preferred.

:

Litigation Management:

(i) Management of legal cases of the Company relating to land, IPR, Civil, Commercial, Criminal, labour and other misc. matters for and against the Company pending across various Courts, Tribunals, Forums, Commissions and other Quasi-Judicial bodies including Government Authorities.

(ii) Management of high-value arbitration matters including preparation of witnesses.

(iii) Drafting of pleadings and appropriate reply to various pleadings, timely filings and follow up with all concerned Business Functions.

(iii) To maintain and update Legal MIS on a regular basis. A monthly update to be given to the Management on the legal matters.

(iv) Close coordination and interaction with external counsels for ensuring timely filings and effective representation of the Company in the legal cases.

(v) Court appearances and should be open to travel.

(v) Researching and preparing cases.

Contract Management and other Responsibilities :

(i) Draft, review and finalize various business contracts and agreements, standardization of contract templates and ensuring timely adherence to the contractual obligations.

(ii) Execution, registration and notarization of legal deeds and documents.

(iii) Follow up in case of renewals or termination of contracts and drafting of necessary letters and notices.

(iv) Create and maintain contracts database with an aim to mitigate risk and improve business efficiency.

- Identifying the legal risk and advising on mitigation of the risk.

- Supports the Legal Department with the coordination and scheduling and management of its requirement that could include multiple internal and/or external stakeholders.

- Maintaining, managing and update the central repository of key legal documents of the Company in both electronic and paper form.

- Dealing with external lawyers, consultants, government officials, auditors, etc.

- Formulating policies, processes and SOPs on all legal matters and ensuring adherence thereto.

- Draft demand letters, notices, settlements, amendments, addendums etc.

- To obtain, preserve, maintain the key documents and to follow and also ensure adherence to the Document Management Policy.

Technical Competencies:

(i) Computer proficient with demonstrated experience and working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and SAP required.

(ii) Working knowledge of Outlook, Adobe Reader and PowerPoint preferred.

(iii) Familiarity with electronic court filing procedures would be an asset.

(iv) Should have ability to compile and analyse data and furnish information in report format, written correspondence, email, or verbally.

Desired Skills:

(i) Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills in English.

(ii) Excellent legal research skills to prepare cases and form strong arguments based on evidence.

(iii) Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision.

(iv) Poise and finesse to work with senior executives.

(v) Problem solving and resolution-oriented approach.
