The Assistant Manager - Sales (ISO Tank) is a critical, target-driven role responsible for the independent acquisition and growth of profitable market share within the bulk liquid chemical, food-grade, or gas transport sectors. This role requires achieving and exceeding individual sales and Gross Profit (GP) targets through proactive business development, expert technical consultation on ISO Tank solutions, and robust key account management. The successful candidate must possess hands-on knowledge of ISO Tank operations and regulatory compliance to deliver seamless and competitive logistics solutions.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Achieve and exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and Gross Profit (GP) targets.
Independently identify, qualify, prospect, and secure new customers, primarily Chemical Manufacturers, Traders, and Freight Forwarders, who require global or regional ISO Tank logistics solutions.
Manage the entire sales cycle for individual accounts, from initial prospecting and cold calling through detailed quotation, commercial negotiation, contract signing, and service initiation.
Prepare, present, and negotiate competitive commercial proposals and service contracts, ensuring both technical suitability and commercial viability.
Execute the strategic sales plan for the assigned territory or vertical to drive significant market share growth.
Serve as the ISO Tank subject matter expert, providing expert-level consultation on the technical specifications, suitability, and safe use of ISO tanks for various hazardous (IMDG/ADR) and non-hazardous cargoes.
Work closely with the Pricing team to prepare competitive and accurate spot quotations and collaborate with Operations and Tank Fleet Management to ensure seamless service execution, accurate costing, and timely depot coordination.
Act as the direct and primary point of contact for assigned customers, taking ownership of the service delivery process and ensuring quick resolution of any operational or documentation issues.
Monitor competitor activities, analyze industry trends, and report on changes in the bulk liquid logistics landscape to maintain a competitive advantage.
Prepare and present detailed individual sales performance reports and pipeline forecasts to the Management.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience:
3-5 years of successful sales or business development experience in the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
Essential Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of direct sales experience within the
ISO Tank Container Business
. Good working knowledge of ISO Tank equipment, technical specifications, cleaning requirements, and basic operational flows.
Software Proficiency:
Competency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and proven experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
