As an Assistant Manager Sales in our freight forwarding company, you will play a key role in driving the growth of the sales pipeline, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and ensuring the successful delivery of our freight forwarding services. You will work closely with the sales team and other departments to ensure sales targets are met, and customer expectations are exceeded.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Development:
- Identify and generate new business opportunities in the freight forwarding sector.
- Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new clients and expanding services with existing clients.
- Proactively engage with potential clients through cold calls, emails, and networking events.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
Sales Target Achievement:
- Meet and exceed sales targets set by the Sales Managerer or Business Development Manager.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, ensuring that objectives are being met.
- Assist in creating sales forecasts and business development plans.
Collaboration with Operations:
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure that customer requirements are translated into operational plans.
- Provide necessary support to the operations team to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Liaise with other departments (finance, customs, logistics) to ensure smooth service delivery.
Pricing & Quotations:
- Prepare and present competitive pricing proposals for clients.
- Negotiate terms, rates, and contracts with customers, ensuring profitability for the company.
- Ensure accurate documentation and contracts for each client engagement.

Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain and update client information, sales leads, and progress in the CRM system.
- Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management.
- Ensure all documentation related to sales activities is accurately processed and maintained.
-Take daily review of sales person visits and have a weekly review meeting along with sales team with General Manager
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum a Bachelor's degree.
3 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management in the logistics, freight forwarding industry in shipping field
Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, international shipping, customs regulations, and supply chain processes.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
Experience in managing / mentoring junior sales team members.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
