Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing site-specific HSE plans, method statements, job safety analysis (JSA/JHA) and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements, client standards, and international codes (OSHA, ISO 45001, OHSAS etc.).
Establish emergency response procedures, conduct mock drills and maintain preparedness.
2. Site Monitoring & Inspections
Conduct routine site inspections, audits, walk-downs, and report unsafe conditions/acts with actionable recommendations.
Verify and approve work permits (PTW) for high-risk activities such as lifting, hot works, confined space entry, working at height, excavation, scaffolding, formwork, MEP works, etc.
Monitor critical equipment (PPE, lifting tools, machinery) for safety compliance.
3. Safety Training & Awareness
Conduct toolbox talks, induction training, and competency assessments for workers, subcontractors, staff, and labor.
Promote awareness campaigns on safety topics (work at height, electrical safety, housekeeping, fire safety, etc.).
Identify skill gaps and propose safety training programs.
4. Incident Management
Lead incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), near-miss reporting, and develop corrective & preventive action plans.
Maintain documentation and timely reporting to Safety Manager and client.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain safety records, permits, checklists, hazard registers, emergency records, inspection logs, and safety KPI data.
Ensure statutory compliance with local safety laws, labor codes, and construction standards.
6. Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, client HSE teams and vendors to implement best HSE practices.
Act as a safety ambassador and maintain positive safety culture across all teams.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of construction safety procedures, risk assessment, and PTW systems.
Excellent communication, leadership, and training ability.
Analytical thinking for incident investigation and RCA.
Ability to build safety culture among diverse workforce.
Educational Qualifications
Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical)
(1-year).
Additional certifications (First Aid, Fire Safety, Scaffold Inspector, Lifting Supervisor) are an advantage.
Experience
12+ years
(depending on company requirement) in construction safety for high-rise buildings, industrial projects, infrastructure, or commercial or residential projects.
