1. Project Procurement Support (Greenfield Phase):
Assist in planning and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for plant construction and commissioning.
Support in vendor evaluation, selection, and development as per project timelines.
Ensure timely ordering and delivery of civil, mechanical, electrical, and utility items for the project.
2. Operational Procurement:
Handle purchase of raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and spares for plant operations post-commissioning.
Prepare purchase orders, negotiate prices and delivery schedules, and track supplier performance.
Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid production downtime without overstocking.
3. Vendor Development and Management:
Identify and onboard new suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
Build long-term relationships with key vendors and resolve supply-related issues.
Ensure adherence to quality and compliance standards during procurement.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting:
Support in preparing procurement budgets and tracking expenses against forecasts.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or timelines.
5. Documentation & ERP Usage:
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, vendor details, delivery schedules, and pricing.
Operate SAP / ERP systems for procurement, material tracking, and reporting.
6. Compliance & Audits:
Ensure procurement practices comply with company policies and statutory requirements.
Assist in facing internal and external audits related to procurement.
Key Skills Required:
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Knowledge of supply chain and inventory control
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving project environment
Proficiency in MS Excel and documentation
Qualifications:
Graduate / Postgraduate in Supply Chain / Materials Management / Engineering
4-6 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/plant environment (greenfield experience preferred)
Preferred Background:
Prior exposure to setting up procurement systems for new manufacturing units
Experience in vendor development in South India, especially Tamil Nadu and Telangana
