Job Description

Role Summary

Responsible for developing innovative and commercially viable home products aligned

with Home Centre's brand positioning across categories such as Furniture. Works


closely with design, sourcing, merchandising, and QA teams to ensure timely, cost-

effective, and high-quality product launches.


Key Responsibilities

Research home and lifestyle trends (local & international) and translate insights

into product concepts

Develop new product ranges in line with category strategy and seasonal

calendars

Collaborate with Design and Buying teams to finalize product direction and

themes

Source suitable vendors and factories for various Home Centre categories Prepare and share detailed product briefs including drawings, specifications,

and material details

Develop prototypes and coordinate sampling, ensuring design, function, and

cost targets are met

Review samples and ensure compliance with Home Centre's quality, safety, and

sustainability standards

Coordinate with QA team for testing, audits, and compliance documentation Negotiate cost with suppliers to meet margin objectives Monitor development timelines to ensure on-time readiness for production and

launch

Conduct factory visits for development reviews, quality checks, and relationship

building

Support merchandising and VM teams during product launch and corrective

actions, if required

Maintain accurate product information and updates in PLM / ERP systems Track market performance and provide inputs for improvements or variants
Key Skills & Competencies


Strong understanding of home products: Furniture, Decor, Kitchen & Bath, Soft

Furnishings

Knowledge of materials like wood, metal, glass, ceramics, textiles, plastic, etc. Vendor sourcing and development skills (India & overseas exposure preferred) Costing, margin analysis, and negotiation expertise Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced retail

environment

Strong eye for design, detail, and quality Excellent coordination and communication skills Proficiency in MS Office, PLM / Bluekaktus / SAP preferred

Qualifications & Experience

BE/ B.Tech, ME/M.Tech (Mechanical Engineering Background) 4-8+ years in Product Development for Home, Furniture and Interior * Experience working with private labels and multi-vendor ecosystems preferred
