Position Overview
The Assistant Manager PPIC (Production Planning & Inventory Control) will be responsible for planning, scheduling, material management, and inventory control to ensure seamless production operations. The role requires close coordination with procurement, production, warehouse, and sales teams to align production plans with customer demand, optimize inventory, and drive operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage short and long term production plans based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and capacity.
  • Monitor and track production schedules to ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Coordinate with production teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks.
  • Evaluate capacity utilization and recommend adjustments to improve workflow.
  • Forecast raw materials, components, and packaging requirements accurately.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Review inventory movements and reconcile discrepancies with warehouse teams.
  • Plan and track logistics to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and inventory reports.
  • Analyse production performance, material usage, and inventory trends for improvement.
  • Maintain and update PPIC and logistics data in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Collaborate with sales, maintenance, and production teams to align plans with operational readiness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning, material management, and inventory control.
  • Participate in audits, compliance activities, and develop SOPs for PPIC processes.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, ERP/SAP systems, and inventory management.
  • Expertise in logistics planning and management.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and analytical tools.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, results oriented, and highly responsible.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (or diploma in a related field).
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
Experience
5 9 years of experience in PPIC, production planning, inventory control, and logistics within the manufacturing industry.
