Job Description

The Manager- Portfolio will be responsible for evaluating, prioritizing, and managing the company's pipeline of generic drug development projects intended for highly regulated markets (US, EU, UK, etc). This role requires strong analytical skills, market awareness, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to translate commercial insights into actionable portfolio decisions. The ideal candidate has experience in generic pharmaceuticals, regulatory pathways, and global market dynamics.

Portfolio Strategy & Planning



Develop and maintain a long-term generic product portfolio strategy aligned with corporate objectives and market opportunities. Identify and assess new product opportunities based on market demand, competition, regulatory requirements, IP landscape, and commercial potential. Conduct business cases, financial models, and risk assessments to support go/no-go decisions. Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, and price/volume dynamics in regulated markets.

Pipeline Management



Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of portfolio products--from opportunity assessment through development, regulatory submission, approval, launch, and post-launch optimization. Lead portfolio review meetings and maintain up-to-date project status dashboards. Prioritize projects based on strategic fit, technical feasibility, regulatory timelines, and expected returns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration



Work closely with BD, PMO, R&D, RA and IP teams to ensure portfolio alignment and execution. Facilitate cross-functional decision-making by providing clear market, financial, and competitive intelligence. Ensure all functional teams are aligned to portfolio priorities and timelines.

Financial & Performance Management



Develop revenue forecasts, cost models, and profitability analyses for portfolio products. Measure and report portfolio performance KPIs, highlighting risks and opportunities. Support BD and Launch teams in pricing strategy and launch planning. Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 7-10+ years of experience in portfolio management, product management, or strategy within the generic pharmaceutical industry. Strong understanding of ANDA pathways, bioequivalence requirements, and dossier types for regulated markets (US, EU, UK, Health Canada, TGA, etc.). Knowledge of IP assessment (Orange Book listings, patent cliffs, exclusivity windows, Para IV opportunities). Proven ability to analyze complex data, build business cases, and drive strategic decisions. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills. * Experience with forecasting, financial modelling, and competitive intelligence tools.
