Role Overview
The Assistant Manager / Manager - Legal (Non-Litigation) will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across the company's real estate operations. The role focuses on contract management, regulatory compliance, due diligence, and risk mitigation--ensuring all business activities adhere to relevant laws and corporate governance standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-litigation legal work within the corporate sector, preferably in real estate or allied industries.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including agreements, contracts, MoUs, lease deeds, and service agreements.
Conduct legal due diligence on property title documents and other real estate transactions.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to real estate and corporate governance.
Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory, contractual, and operational legal matters, providing practical solutions to mitigate risk.
Liaise with government authorities, financial institutions, and external legal counsel as required.
Support the business in negotiations and commercial transactions from a legal perspective.
Monitor and communicate changes in relevant laws and regulations to business units.
Maintain and update legal documentation, templates, and process manuals.
Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to support business growth and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new projects and ongoing operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; LLM preferred.
5-10 years of relevant experience in non-litigation legal roles, ideally within the corporate real estate sector.
Currently working in a corporate environment (real estate, infrastructure, financial services, or similar).
Strong experience in drafting and vetting legal documents, contract negotiation, and due diligence.
Thorough knowledge of real estate laws, corporate law, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
