Job Purpose: Executive - Wildlife Hazard Management is - Wildlife Hazard Management is responsible for supporting the effective Implementation of management of wildlife hazard program at the airport. responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of wildlife hazard strategies. This role focuses on assisting in the development and execution of wildlife management plans, monitoring wildlife activity, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Executive supports daily operations by managing documentation, coordinating with various teams, and addressing immediate wildlife-related issues.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate Wildlife Hazard Management Activities:
Coordinate the daily activities related to managing wildlife hazards at the airport. This involves scheduling and overseeing the implementation of wildlife management strategies, such as deterrence measures and habitat modifications.
Work closely with various teams, including ground staff and maintenance, to ensure that these activities are carried out effectively and in accordance with established protocols. The role requires ensuring that all activities are properly documented and that any issues or incidents are promptly addressed.
Monitor Wildlife Activity:
Continuously observe airport surroundings for wildlife presence, identifying species, location, and behavior.
Contribute to wildlife hazard management efforts by reporting sightings to relevant authorities and implementing mitigation measures.
Support Wildlife Risk Assessments and Data Collection:
Assist in conducting wildlife risk assessments and collecting relevant data to evaluate the potential impact of wildlife on airport operations. This responsibility involves supporting the team in gathering information on wildlife activity, analyzing risk factors, and documenting findings.
Help prepare reports that summarize the data and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
Implement and Monitor Wildlife Deterrence Measures:
Implement and monitor wildlife deterrence measures to prevent wildlife from posing a risk to airport operations. This includes setting up and maintaining deterrent devices, such as noise makers or visual deterrents, and ensuring that they are functioning correctly.
Monitor the effectiveness of these measures and makes recommendations for adjustments based on observed wildlife behaviour and incident reports.
Assist in Compliance with Wildlife Management Regulations:
Assist in the preparation of documentation required for regulatory compliance, conducting internal audits, and staying informed about relevant laws and guidelines.
Help in ensuring that all wildlife management practices adhere to these regulations and addresses any compliance issues that arise.
Provide Support for Wildlife Management Training Programs:
Support and facilitate training programs for airport staff on wildlife hazard management. This involves organizing training sessions, preparing training materials, and ensuring that all relevant personnel receive the necessary instructions.
Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making improvements based on feedback.

Qualifications:
Educational Qualification:
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field ornithology with necessary knowledge and understanding of safety management principles
Work Experience:
3-4 Years of experience in wildlife management or environmental science, including roles in hazard assessment, implementing control measures, and collaborating with wildlife agencies. Experience in aviation environments and managing wildlife-related risks is highly valued.
