Job Summary:
BasketFull is seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Operations Manager to lead daily store operations, optimize inventory, manage the team, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. This is a key leadership role in growing a retail brand focused on quality, efficiency, and trust.
Key Responsibilities:
Store Operations
Oversee smooth day-to-day functioning of the mart (billing, restocking, cleanliness, order flow).
Manage POS system operations, stock entries, and billing accuracy.
Implement and maintain SOPs for store layout, merchandising, and staff duties.
Inventory Management
Monitor and update inventory levels regularly using POS.
Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement and inwarding.
Minimize pilferage, expiry loss, and dead stock through proactive checks.
Team Supervision
Lead and train billing staff, floor helpers, and security guards.
Allocate shifts and ensure adherence to work schedules.
Resolve staff or customer-related issues promptly.
Customer Service & Experience
Ensure high-quality service standards and smooth checkout experience.
Handle customer complaints or feedback in a professional manner.
Maintain visual merchandising and cleanliness standards.
Sales & Reporting
Track daily/weekly sales and prepare performance reports.
Assist in achieving monthly revenue and margin targets.
Support promotional planning and in-store campaign execution.
Loss Prevention
Implement anti-theft checks including exit-bill verification.
Coordinate with CCTV monitoring and suggest operational improvements.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree (BBA, Retail Management, or related field preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience as Store Manager, Assistant Manager, or Retail Supervisor.
Strong knowledge of POS systems, inventory tools, and team management.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and customer focus.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Preferred Skills (Bonus):
Experience with cloud-based POS systems (e.g. Vyapaar, myBillBook, Gofrugal, Marg).
Basic understanding of GST, billing, and retail tax compliance.
Exposure to quick commerce or multi-location retail models is a plus.
