Primary Role & Responsibility

Job Summary :
The processes involve accounting & reporting work for Insurance Domain, preferably requiring the sound understanding of IFRS Reporting. The role also envisages preparation and consolidation of financial reporting. Professionals would be an individual working on high-end systems and various reporting software applications like Workiva, Eagle Wings and Oracle, for meeting their monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables.

Key Accountabilities :
Operations & Process:

  • Support the preparation of the consolidated fair value footnote for inclusion in Forms 10-Q and 10-K filings
  • Responsible for review, timely and accurate delivery of GAAP & STAT reporting, disclosures, MD&A, Surveys etc.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate delivery of Financial Reporting, disclosures, State filing, Surveys etc.
  • Peers(team members) for the purpose of seeking co-operation & clarification on process-related matters & providing assistance and support when required
  • Ownership of processes, reports, procedures or products. Subject Matter Expertise in SEC reporting, Notes to accounts, and other Disclosures etc
  • Insurance accounting regulatory reporting experience (SSAP knowledge) preferred
  • Review of critical journal entries, GAAP/STAT supplements and Notes to accounts before submission to onshore team
  • Lead and mentor junior team members
  • Liaison with multiple departments (Input providers) during the close to ensure timely completion of deliverables/Collaborate for special projects
  • Support quarterly/annual audits by internal auditors, as well as, independent external auditors
  • Participate or lead special projects, initiatives, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests
  • Understand & anticipate clients’ business needs/concerns, etc. & proactively resolve the same
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies and enhanced controls
  • Ensure adequacy of internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

  • CA/CPA/MBA/Post-Graduate in Finance with 5-7 years of experience in Financial Accounting & Reporting (GAAP & STAT Reporting)
  • Knowledge of Regulatory reporting, technical accounting principles and SEC reporting requirements
  • Hands on experience on Orange, Blue, Yellow or Green blanks
  • Capable of working with tight deadlines and lead closure of reporting timelines
  • Effectively balance quality, timeliness and accuracy standards
  • Experience with financial reporting applications (Oracle BI, Essbase, Workiva, Eagle Wings)
  • Proficiency in MS-excel, Power BI & MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with strong time management, organizational and problem solving skills and the ability to multi task and work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels across the organization


  • Knowledge of Regulatory reporting concepts including accounting standards
  • Understanding of Insurance & LLOYD’s market and STAT Principals
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power BI etc.)
  • ERP’s such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, Wdesk, Workday, COGNOS etc.
  • Experience with financial reporting applications (Oracle BI, Essbase, Workiva)
  • Experience with eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging
